In the Name of the Lord

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Hebrew 11:6

This week (16 November 1997), my church (Gereja Dunamis or Dunamis Church) had the privilege of having the gifted Pastor Elijah Rajendran from the Victorious Life Centre as the speaker. He gave two services, one evening service at 2000 on 15 November 1997 during which he shared his interesting testimony. They bought an famous palace to be used as their new church premises.

On the morning service on 16 November 1997, he told us the 10 Principles of Faith, which was inspired by God when we were praising the Lord the previous night. I had his blessings to put it here. All glory to God. Words in italic are mine.

  1. Faith and God's Promises

    2. Faith must be based on the Word of God. We must read, listen and than take up the promises. God will then misister to us. We should always keep our eyes on Jesus.
     

  2. Faith and surrendering to God's Will

    3. God has plans for each of us. We must submit to His will. Thy will be done, Lord. Not ours. We do what God wants us to do, not what we want.
     

  3. Faith and Prayer

    4. With prayer, we can bring down the strongholds of the enemy. We can pull down his the enemy's plans. If we do not pray, we are reacting in the flesh - which is what the enemy wants. When we pray, we walk in the spirit. We should pray always.
     

  4. Faith and Giving

    5. If we want to operate in faith, especially in finance, we must be cheerfully giving. God cannot expand our faith if we are stingy. God is greater than all out needs. We must be givers.
     

  5. Faith and Patience

    6. There will be trials and hindrances. We should not be disheartened. We should press on according to God's instruction. We will get what we deserve in due time. Patience is the only key that can carry us through trials and tests.
     

  6. Faith and humility

    7. We must be humble. The Lord will raise the humble. Biblical humility is to regard others better than us. God hates pride.
     

  7. Faith and holiness

    8. We are to live a holy life. God is holy. The Lord will not hear our prayer if we regard inequity in our life. We have to always come back to God and ask for His forgiveness when we fall.
     

  8. Faith and love

    9. Faith does not work when we have hatred in our heart. We should not have bitterness in out hearts.
     

  9. Faith and action

    10. We have to take actions, be it praying, visiting, or sharing the good news. We are to go and demonstrate the power of God's love. We cannot just hide in our room and pray when God ask us to do something.
     

  10. Faith and body ministry

We can only do great things with body ministry. The whole church will have to come together, supporting the pastor.
